
The Misanthrope ~ Moliere
Moliere's The Misanthrope will be performed at Silver Spring Stage, August 28-30th, 2026
In the summer of 2026 (August 28-August 30th), Moliere's The Misanthrope (Richard Wilbur translation) will be performed at the Silver Spring Stage in Silver Spring, Maryland.
Auditions will be untraditional "workshop" auditions, held on May 9th, 2026 at CMIT Academy High School (14800 Sweitzer Lane, Laurel, MD 20707 in the Media Center).
Geoffrey Owens and T.S. Grant will be holding the workshop auditions on that date during two sessions--9:30-12:00 and 1:00-3:30. Geoffrey will be working with the actors during the audition and he will hold workshop rehearsals once a month (June, July, August) before the performance dates.
Audition-process
During the auditions, actors will be asked to read scenes from The Misanthrope. Actors may also be asked to read different scenes with different actors. Geoffrey will workshop scenes with actors.
T.S. Grant will be directing and producing this play.
While not guaranteed, and while not much, actors should receive pay, working on a commission-based pay model.
